Veloxward ADC · Secure remote access

WireGuard VPN for virtual desktop access

Give remote users a modern VPN path into your VDI estate — on the same ADC appliance that terminates TLS, load-balances controllers, and serves clientless workspace access.

VPN and VDI belong at the same edge

Enterprise VDI rarely exposes session hosts directly to the internet. Teams deploy VPN concentrators, reverse proxies, and clientless gateways as separate products — each with its own patching cadence, monitoring, and certificate story. Veloxward ADC consolidates those edge services, including WireGuard VPN, so remote users reach the workspace catalog and broker tier through a single, operationally coherent appliance.

WireGuard offers a lightweight, cryptographically modern VPN protocol with smaller attack surface and simpler client deployment than many legacy SSL VPN stacks. Veloxward integrates VPN profile delivery with the Veloxward VDI entitlement model, so access policy stays aligned with who can launch which desktops and applications.

When to use VPN vs clientless access

Not every user needs a full VPN client. Veloxward ADC also provides an Internet Gateway for clientless web access to entitled workspace resources — useful when endpoint policy blocks VPN installs or when contractors need browser-only paths. Many estates use both:

  • WireGuard VPN — power users, admins, and scenarios that need network-level reachability into the VDI zone.
  • Internet Gateway — clientless HTTPS access without a VPN client install.
  • HTML5 VDI gateway — browser-based desktop sessions brokered through Veloxward VDI.

Built for production VDI topologies

VPN terminates on Veloxward ADC at the network boundary. Behind the ADC, load-balanced VDI controllers handle brokering, entitlements, and gateway routing to session hosts on Proxmox, VMware, or Hyper-V. TLS certificates, firewall rules, and VLAN placement are scoped during assessment — see professional services for pilot and go-live packages.

Do I still need a VPN for VDI?

It depends on your security model. Some organizations standardize on clientless-only access; others require VPN for admin paths or legacy apps that must sit on the same network as session hosts. Veloxward lets you choose the mix that fits your policy rather than bolting a separate VPN product onto a generic load balancer.
